Starting a tropical freshwater fish aquarium is a great hobby and lots of folk do it. But lots of other folk start their aquarium but don’t get much further than that. Why? Because they forgot to research what they were doing, became deflated and gave up half way through. That just ain’t how it’s done folks.
This is probably the scenario for lots of other hobbies also, but you have to agree, what a waste of time and money eh? You get all enthusiastic and excited, go out and buy some equipment, get home, make a start and then before you know it, it’s all over.
There’s normally only one reason for this and it’s simply down to lack of prior research. That’s it. You forgot to read up on the hobby of keeping a fish aquarium, you forgot to check out the internet for the masses of readily available information all at zero cost, you forgot to check out the mandatory details you need for success in your new hobby.
It doesn’t take long either. A few hours maybe, and remember that you’re reading up on information that you’re actually interested in so it’s not like work, quite the opposite. It’s fun, exhilarating, exciting, rewarding and even fascinating. So listen up just a minute. When you start a freshwater fish aquarium don’t just jump in there and make that start with zero information as you will undoubtedly fall at the first hurdle so to speak. Get that information before you do anything at all OK.
Don’t even think about starting based purely on excitement and assumption about how to set up, it won’t work I promise you. You need that researched information first, it doesn’t take long, it’s interesting and it’ll ensure you have an aquarium full of happy fish for life and not for a season.
